Combating the winter blues

Grey skies get you down? You should take a look at the company Outside In which manufactures products to combat seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Our client did and were presiding over a management buy-in of the company. To do this they needed to conduct commercial due diligence of Outside In and its market. Which is where we came in.

We kicked off our research with a series of management interviews. We then reviewed all the publicly available information on the market. This was then supplemented with interviews with customers, competitors, distributors and industry experts who helped us gain a fuller understanding of the market, as well as the company’s position within it.

In line with our recommendations, the new management team led a buy-in of Outside In in April 2006. Our research continues to be used as a basis for the team’s future business strategy as they go about helping more people to combat the winter blues.
