Special people
Enthusiastic, dedicated, professional and good fun - just some of the adjectives our clients have used to describe our people.
Here are just some of the special people you might meet at FreshMinds.
Jeannie, Managing Director
Jeannie joined FreshMinds in 2004 as Chief Operating Officer. She’s now our Managing Director, responsible for ensuring we’re surpassing clients’ expectations, as well as growing and developing the team. And she’s doing a great job considering her team has doubled in size in the last year. Prior to joining FreshMinds Jeannie worked for PA Consulting where she specialised in aligning organisational processes and structures with business strategy. Whilst at PA she was promoted to Senior Consultant within just four years which is seriously impressive. Jeannie qualified as a Master of Civil Engineering with European Studies from Heriot-Watt University in 1999. Not one to sit around, Jeannie’s hobbies include snowboarding, scuba diving, horse riding, photography and interior design.
Nick, Research Consultant
Nick began his career at FreshMinds way back in 2001. He specialises in market research and opportunity assessment studies. He’s worked with a wide spectrum of clients including several public sector organisations and government departments. Some of Nick’s favourite projects include investigating the demand for cultural activities for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and helping the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council to evaluate museum and gallery education nationwide. Nick sits on the conference committees of the Market Research Society (MRS) and the Business Intelligence Group (BIG). He’s published articles for Research magazine and been quoted in numerous other trade publications. Nick holds a BA in French and German from Bristol University, as well as a PHD in Caribbean Literature from UCL. When he’s not designing surveys or reading French Literature, Nick spends his time playing the bass in his rock band, Frankie and collecting exotic musical instruments.
Catherine, Research Consultant
Catherine has been delivering great research for FreshMinds since 2005. Over the years she’s been building relationships with scores of fantastic clients, getting to grips with their challenges and overseeing the entire research process. She’s worked with a range of retail and consumer goods clients, helping them to enter new markets, track brand success and improve their consumer offering. She’s also been applying commercial thinking to the public sector, helping education clients with issues including marketing strategy and organisational change. Before joining FreshMinds, Catherine worked as an Account Manager for Masterfoods, and for Pricewaterhouse Coopers on a long-term project for a global FMCG client. Catherine holds a first class degree in Microbiology from Leeds University. After graduating, Catherine spent a year amongst the rice fields teaching English in the Japanese town of Nara. She still enjoys escaping the big smoke for weekends away and trips overseas.
Michael, Research Manager
Michael joined FreshMinds in 2005. As a public sector Research Manager, he’s responsible for managing the whole research process, choosing the most suitable methodologies and keeping standards super-high. Just one example of Michael’s great work is a high profile project analysing levels of digital exclusion across the country for UK Online. Before discovering FreshMinds, Michael worked for an European security think-tank where he contributed to academic reports on policing and border management. Michael holds degrees in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University and a Master’s in International Relations. In his spare time, he continues to dream of making it as a scratch DJ, plays basketball, and tries to keep up his international credentials by popping overseas as often as possible.
Lucy, Research Analyst
Lucy’s been part of the FreshMinds team since 2006. As an Analyst, she’s responsible for employing a range of research techniques to deliver top-notch information and insight to clients. She’s particularly skilled at conducting high level interviews and detailed literature reviews. Recent projects have analysed the brand positioning of an international property investment company as well as the market for hot alcoholic drinks in the UK. Previous roles include working in equity trading for Bloomberg and as a researcher for a skills policy research centre. Lucy holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University. Her hobbies include salsa dancing and singing in a ‘funky choir’ called the Heard. She is also keen to improve her surfing skills at some point in the future.
